In order to elevate the reputation and educational influence of the Guangwushan-Nuoshuihe Global Geopark propagate the scientific mentality of resource conservation and awareness for geological disasters among the public develop the sense to cherish the Earth and protect the environment and earnestly strengthen the awareness of self-rescue from geological disasters the Guangwushan-Nuoshuihe Global Geopark took into full considerations pandemic prevention and control requirements and collaborated with relevant authorities such as Municipal Geological Environment Monitoring Station to host a scientific knowledge popularization promo event on the theme "Embrace New Spring - Scientific Knowledge Carnival" at the Baren Plaza between February 27 and March 1 2021. The event substantively popularized and propagated Earth science knowledge related to resource conservation geological disaster prevention and other aspects.

Revolving around scientific knowledge education and promotion the campaign adopted various measures such as dissemination of promo materials and survey questionnaires explanation of relevant but little-known scientific knowledge and organized activities pertaining to aspects such as geological disaster prevention and geopark construction. First of all citizens were informed about the development history resource value of the Guangwushan-Nuoshuihe Global Geopark and related information about sister geoparks so as to increase citizens' understanding about the Guangwushan-Nuoshuihe Global Geopark and enhance their consciousness to protect relevant resources. Secondly  geological disaster prevention knowledge and info about our city's geological disaster prevention efforts in recent years were disseminated in order to improve the public's capacity and sense to protect themselves. At the same time emphatic efforts were made to publicize our city's feat of nine straight years of "zero death" from geological disaster.

This campaign took place during the 16th day of the first month of the traditional Chinese lunar calendar when it is customary to hike but since the CPC municipal committee and municipal government banned any group hiking activity for pandemic safety reasons the campaign also served as a means to foster a festive atmosphere. By combining traditional cultural elements the campaign featured a lantern riddles activity with riddles based on not only traditional content like lexicons or proverbs but also scientific knowledge about common geological disasters resource conservation the Guangwushan-Nuoshuihe Global Geopark and other aspects. Citizens accrued knowledge and were rewarded with cultural and creative gifts associated with the Guangwushan-Nuoshuihe Global Geopark. Citizens not only participated in the lantern riddle activity but also listened to scientific knowledge promotion lectures in earnest actively asked questions eagerly participated in interactions and unanimously lauded the campaign.
